Greetings
all!
Please
allow me to thank all of those who have already volunteered in many ways for
our campaigns, and for the Tuesday, November 3, 2015 elections. We have much more to do however and need many
more volunteers. Please email me at ewhitlock@lawplc.com to volunteer. You can also contact the campaigns directly.
On November
3, 2015, we have important elections for our local government (Commonwealth’s
Attorney, Sheriff, Clerk of Court, Board of Supervisors and School Board) as
well as our General Assembly (Senate and House of Delegates). Today the blog will feature Senate Candidate
Siobhan Dunnavant.
Dr. Siobhan
Dunnavant is a practicing OB-GYN who started her own practice 15 years ago. She
is a small-business owner who is very active in the community working with
organizations like Little Sisters of the Poor. She and her husband, Lloyd, live
in Henrico, have four children and attend St. Bridget’s Catholic Church.
“I’m running because I am frustrated with: the ineffective direction and tone of our government,
the boundless numbers of government intrusions into
our lives through regulations and taxes, and the polarized conversations about
fringe subjects that don’t materially contribute to our kids’ chances to achieve
the American Dream. I believe I can make them better by: bringing a positive,
no-drama tone and approach in Richmond, implementing creative solutions to
challenges facing the Commonwealth, that keep government intrusion to a minimum
and focusing my efforts on policies that will make people’s lives better, like
economic growth for our families.”
Goals:
Ø
-Work to push back
against government overreach, like the expansion of Medicaid.
Ø
-Reduce and remove
outdated and burdensome regulations to help business thrive in Virginia.
Ø
-Focus on making sure
that our educational system turns out graduates ready for today’s jobs.
Ø -Strive to bring
common-sense medical knowledge as the General Assembly deals with healthcare
policy.
